Notably, 81.4% of learners use it for career exploration and skill development.
Kabakoo’s innovative use of AI is set to significantly impact digital upskilling in West Africa by making quality education more accessible and effective. Through AI-powered mentors, Kabakoo provides high-quality, personalized learning even in areas lacking traditional educational resources, dramatically increasing the reach and effectiveness of training programs, with an ambition to serve 1 million learners by 2030.
The integration by our tech team of Bambara language support alongside French enables native language interaction with the AI mentor, extending digital upskilling to a wider audience, particularly those with limited proficiency in French or English. This Kabakoo innovation demonstrates Kabakoo's commitment to culturally-relevant, tech-driven education and marks a crucial advancement in personalized upskilling for West African youth.
Recognized in the World Economic Forum's April 2024 report "Shaping the Future of Learning: The Role of AI in Education 4.0", Kabakoo stands out as a leader in AI-driven education, being one of nine case studies featured alongside initiatives from entities like South Korea's ministry of education and UNICEF. Our approach leverages AI to create personalized, accessible, and culturally appropriate learning experiences, particularly beneficial in regions with limited traditional educational resources.
At Kabakoo Academies, we are proud to house one of West Africa's largest XR production studio, equipped with the most advanced production capabilities. As part of our pioneering efforts, we introduced the world's first augmented reality (AR) mentor within our Regenerative Architecture and Extended Reality cohort, offering our learners a cutting-edge, interactive educational experience.
We are also redefining storytelling through immersive technologies. Our participants can virtually visit the iconic Djenné Great Mosque, explore the architectural wonders of the Pays Dogon, and engage with social institutions like the Donsoya. By blending endogenous knowledge with technological innovation, we transform how stories of heritage and futures are told, inspiring regenerative futures across the Sahel.
At Kabakoo Academies, we are dedicated to producing impactful content that not only promotes digital careers among Sahelian youth but also shifts mindsets and changes narratives. Our expertise extends to creating a series of transformative materials that showcase the opportunities in the digital sector and challenge prevailing perceptions. These include :
01
Immersive and inspiring videos highlighting local success stories, emphasizing the potential for innovation in the Sahel.
02
Short documentaries providing practical information on training programs and career paths, while addressing common misconceptions about digital careers.
03
Interactive content designed to spark curiosity, enhance digital skills, and foster a growth mindset.
04
Mindset-shifting narratives that challenge traditional views on upskilling and career paths in the region.
Our content inspires digital vocations, mobilizes youth, and promotes tech training in the Sahel. By showcasing local role models and reframing limitations as possibilities, we're cultivating innovative problem-solvers and driving transformative progress in the region.
We leverage 3D printing across a wide range of applications, providing our learners with the opportunity to explore and innovate in different fields. During the COVID-19 pandemic, for example, our learners used 3D printers to produce protective masks, while others printed prosthetics, demonstrating the versatility of this technology. We make 3D printing open to all our learners, adapting it to the interests of each participant, from medical and social impact projects to design and engineering.
In our Regenerative Architecture cohort, we've encouraged learners to use 3D printing to create experimental prototypes, blending sustainable practices with cutting-edge technology. This approach allows us to foster innovation while maintaining our commitment to sustainability and local development.
Key components of the project include developing a comprehensive digital platform , digitizing training programs in market gardening, poultry farming, and food processing, creating a digital skills module, building capacity by training trainers and administrative staff on digital toolsKabakoo's learning team is developing new curricula and learning pathways.
This project not only expands Kabakoo's expertise in training program development but also positions us to potentially influence national-level strategies in technical education.
